HMP Oakwood, Work and education

HMP Oakwood works with Manchester College, Weston College and other providers, to offering a wide range of education and training opportunities. All prisoners receive Information and guidance linked to their personal circumstances and ability levels. Small groups are provided for those who may be experiencing difficulties, however overall a wide range of educational opportunities includes course from entry level to degree support

Vocational training is available the workshops including bricklaying, plumbing, painting and decoration and electrical skills. Barbering, carpentry, engineering, welding, horticulture, animal husbandry, hard landscaping, recycling, catering are courses offered along with gym related qualifications.
