HMP Hewell, Inspection shows progress

spoof data for testing

HMIP carried out a short unannounced inspection at HMP Hewell in late 2012, and their report was published in early 2013. In their report the inspectors said that considerable strides had been made in key areas and that there had been significant improvements in the safer custody and in reducing re-offending. The inspectors were less complimentary about some other aspects of the prisons operations, particular the cleanliness of the common areas of the prison and the treatment of prisoners with disabilities, which left some prisoners confined to their cells at all time except meals.
