Prisoners at the Grange Resettlement Unit at HMP Hewell were victorious in the Vale of Evesham Show winning a gold medal in the informal garden class. The garden, which  depicted scenes from the popular Dr Who tv series, was designed and constructed by prisoners held at the open prison. The project manager from the prison SO Smith said that the standard of entries in the competition was very high and that he and his team of officers and inmates were surprised and honoured   to be awarded the Gold Medal.

The work was carried out as part of the rehabilitation process introducing serving prisoners, some of whom have been in custody for in excess of 10 years, back into the community.
