Visits and getting there, HMP Downview

Visits are held 3 day a week on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday between 2-4pm. To book a visit call 020 8196 6359 10:00-14:00 weekdays

The nearest station is Morden on the Northern Line or Sutton Station. Then take a #80 bus to the prison. Remember that buses and trains are “cashless” so you will need an oyster card or a contactless credit card.

By Car:

  • From M25: Junction 8 follow A217 (Sutton) through Burgh Heath turn right onto Winkworth Road. At 2nd Roundabout turn left onto Sutton lane, road to prison situated approx. 1 mile on right.
  • From London: Cross Thames using Wandsworth Bridge, follow A214 southwards to Tooting Bec, turn right onto A24 westwards to Tooting Broadway and turn left onto A217 Mitcham Road going south. Follow A217 turn left onto Winkworth Road. At 2nd roundabout turn left onto Sutton Lane, road to prison situated approx., 1 mile on right.

Parking: Visitors car park situated on left past the prison (Downview is the first prison on the left)
