HMP Ashfield, Visits & getting there

Visits are held Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons between 14:00-17:00 and on Saturday mornings 09:00-12:00. All visits are booked by the prisoners themselves: the visits hall keeps under 18yo visitors separate form adult visitors. The usual rules regarding what you can take into the prison apply e.g. no mobile phones, cigarettes etc; you can take in loose change to buy refreshments during your visit. All visitors will be searched prior to being admitted to the visits hall and you will need to provide photo ID and proof of address.

HMP Ashfield is north of Bristol but south of the M4 . The nearest train station is Bristol Parkway and the prison run a mini bus service from the station to the prison at time to match visiting hours. You should call the prison on 0117 303 8000 for more details. . Public buses run from Bristol past the prison (click here for timetables)

If driving leave the M32 at Junction 1 and follow signs for Mangotsfield and Pucklechurch. Parking is available at the prison.
