The Probation Trusts

There were 35 probation trusts in the UK, all of which had their own board of management. Each trust ran slightly differently from the next, but the overall service was pretty much the same. Since privatisation of the main stream probation service these trust are being restructured as they now only deal with high risk offenders. The details of the new organizations, called a Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) can be found by clicking here.   It is not yet crystal clear how these new crc’s will eventually end up, so the information shown on the links below is how the probation trusts USED to be; when the dust has settled these pages will be updated to show the revised status of the CRC’s ( follow the CRC link above)
