Eyes and Ears

Remember that when in prison an inmate can’t browse the internet for information. The only news they can get is from the prison newspapers, usually the Sun and the Mirror, weekly papers such as Inside Times and what they see or hear from the TV or radio.

There are a lots of organisations which do provide help to serving prisoners, such as JailGuitarDoors, an organisation set up by Billy Bragg to help provide musical instruments to prisons so that musicians in custody can play www.jailguitardoors.org.uk , but unless the prisoners is told about these opportunities nothing will happen. The family and friends on the “outside” must act as the eyes and ears on these initiatives for those in custody.
