All the prisoners at Hatfield are required to be employed full time in either work or education. The prison has combined this requirement  with assisting prisoners gain a nationally recognized qualification in industrial cleaning (BICs). This qualification was taken by 12 prisoners in October 2014, and all the students were successful. This qualification will help them find employment upon their release.
