Visiting times are the same for Remand and Convicted prisoners.

  • Mon: 09.00 – 11.00, 13:45 – 15:45 – Over 18s only
  • Tue*: 09.00 – 11.00, 13.45 – 15.45
  • Wed: 09.00 11.00, 13:45 – 15:45
  • Thu: 09.00 – 11.00 – Over 18s only, 13:45 – 15:45
  • Sat: 09:00 – 10:00; 10:30 – 11:30 14:00 – 15:00; 15:30 – 16:30
  • Sun: No visits in am, 14:00 – 15:00; 15:30 – 16:30

*there are no visits at all on the 1st Tuesday of each month 

To book a visit call 020 8588 3564, 020 8588 3566 or 020 8588 3596, the visits booking office is open from 09.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday.

You can also book online, go to www.gov.uk/prison-visits, all you need is the name and date of birth of the person you are visiting, their prisoner number and the details of who the visitors will be. Choose up to 3 possible dates and times and prison booking staff will check what’s available and confirm your visit by email. If you’ve made an online visit booking request and haven’t received a confirmation email within 1-3 working days, email [email protected]

You can no longer bring in clothes for sentenced prisoners to be handed over during the visit.

The prison will allow you to take up to £20 in coins into the visits hall to buy refreshments, but certain items such as mobile phones, cigarettes, food & drink etc are not allowed into the prison. You can leave these in lockers (£1 deposit) at the visitors centre. You will be searched by priosn staff before being allowed entrance, and you will have to provide photo ID and proof of address. Note that if you are late for your visit, you may not be allowed into the visits hall.

Getting there:

Buses number 7, 70, 72, 272 and 283 buses all stop outside the prison and the nearest underground station is East Acton (Central Line), which is a ten minute walk away. Click here for timetables

If driving parking in the local area is on meters on Du Cane Road and side streets. As always in London, finding a meter can be difficult so allow plenty of time as you may not be admitted to the visits hall if you are late.
