Charity fund raising at Wakefield

The staff and prisoners at HMP Wakefield have cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats, without leaving the prison, for charity.

A team of 15 pedaled the exercise bikes in the gym for a total of 72 hours to make the “journey” and in the process raised £xxx for YYY charity. The team which was made up of serving prisoners and members of staff  had to worked extremely hard to achieve the objective of completing the distance with 3 full days, particularly as the staff who had to fit their stints on the bike around their work commitments. Staff and inmates are involved in many  fund-raising event for charity during a year, and the money raised by this effort was presented to abc charity
