HMP The Mount opened in 1987 as a young offender institution and changed role to a male category C prison in 1989. It is situated on the outskirts of Bovingdon in Hertfordshire.

    • The Lakes (also known as the Wellbeing unit) – drug support wing, 111 prisoners Care and separation (segregation) unit – 18 prisoners.
