Flowers for Harborough in Bloom

Once again this year HMP Gartree has agreed to provide 10,000 bedding plants to help plant the communal flower beds in Market Harborough.

The plants will be grown in the prison’s nurseries, and will add a welcome splash of colour to the town centre. The nurseries at Gartree employ 3 full time gardeners, the remainder of the workforce being serving prisoners.

The planting out will commence in late April, and the beds should be in full bloom by late May.
