HMP Featherstone, General Information

Built in 1976; house blocks 5, 6 and 7 were added later. The prison is situated adjacent to HMP Oakwood and HMP Brinsford. It is part of the Midlands region and has a capacity of 687. The #1 governor is Laura Whitehurst who has been in place since March 2020 

Accommodation 

  • House block 1 – general residential for 120
  • House block 2 – general residential for 120
  • House block 3 – general residential for 120
  • House block 4 – general residential for 120
  • House block 5 – first night centre and induction for 100
  • House block 6 – awaiting transfer to category D prison for 35
  • House block 7 – enhanced healthy living unit for 72
